This has already been done. Sam Marshall did the initial work; I extended it a lot; and Thanh Le finished it off. Relevant issues are MDL-29719, MDL-34704 and MDL-36259.
I think we have now covered everywhere, but you need to be running at least 2.3.4 or 2.4.1.
